Privacy Policy

MoviGo is a discovery-only application for Israeli cinema showtimes. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no signups, no advertising, and no analytics.

1. What we do not collect

MoviGo does not collect any of the following:

Name, email address, phone number, or any other identifier
Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, advertising IDs)
Crash logs, analytics events, or behavioral telemetry
Browsing or in-app activity history
Contacts, photos, calendar entries, or other device content

We do not maintain user accounts. There is no signup or login flow inside the app.

2. Device permissions we request

MoviGo asks for two permissions, both optional. You may decline either without losing access to the core experience.

Location ("When in Use")

If you grant location permission, MoviGo uses your device's coordinates locally, on the device only, to compute the straight-line distance between you and each cinema in the list. Your coordinates are never sent to MoviGo's backend, to any cinema chain, or to any third party. They are not stored anywhere — they exist only in memory while a screen is open.

If you decline this permission, the app continues to work normally; the distance badges next to each cinema simply do not appear.

Notifications

If you tap "Remind me on release" on an upcoming film, MoviGo asks permission to schedule a local notification on that film's release date. The reminder is scheduled entirely on your device using the operating system's standard notification service. No reminder data is sent to MoviGo's backend or to any third party.

MoviGo does not send push notifications. We do not have, nor do we request, a remote-notification capability.

3. Third parties

MoviGo's backend retrieves movie metadata (titles, posters, summaries, runtimes) from The Movie Database (TMDB). Only the backend communicates with TMDB; the app itself never does. No information about you is shared with TMDB.

When you tap a "Book ticket" button, the app opens the cinema chain's own website in your device's standard browser via the OS handoff. From that point on, you are interacting with the cinema chain directly and that chain's own privacy policy applies. MoviGo does not see, intermediate, or store anything you do on the chain's site.

4. Data storage

The only data MoviGo stores on your device is:

Your chosen interface language (Hebrew or Arabic)
Your chosen city (if you picked one manually rather than using GPS)
The identifier of any "remind me" notification you have scheduled

This data lives in the device's local storage, never leaves your device, and is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app. We have no server-side database tied to you.

5. Children's privacy

MoviGo does not knowingly direct content at children under 13 and does not collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age. The app is rated for a general audience.

6. Security

Because MoviGo does not collect personal information, there is no personal-data store to compromise. All network traffic between the app and MoviGo's backend uses HTTPS.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy is ever updated, the new version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date below will change. Substantive changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
